System Lead - Energy

Emi leads the development of initiatives and programs in energy system decarbonisation, electricity sector transitions and net zero energy planning in Australia and Southeast Asia. Emi’s team works with policy makers, industry stakeholders, research communities and think tanks; facilitating knowledge collaboration, and capacity building, aiming to strengthen the links between energy and climate.

Emi joins Climateworks with 15 years’ experience in energy consulting and research, including policy design, the electricity market, energy infrastructure planning and renewable energy market research. She has worked as an energy market specialist in Australia, Asia-Pacific and Europe, spending time at the Australian Energy Market Operator, consultancies, utilities and energy trading houses. Through research work with universities, Emi published journal papers, conference papers and book chapters addressing socio-economic aspects of distributed and decentralised energy infrastructure, community energy, and consumer-centric service innovations in the utility sector. She also facilitated community and private sector participation in the low-carbon energy transition.

Emi has a PhD in Energy Policy and Energy Economics from the University of New South Wales. She also holds an MBA from Melbourne Business School in Australia and a Master of Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
