Simon Herd


Simon is Principal Product Manager at Atlassian overseeing the integration of ProForma Forms into the Atlassian platform.

Previously, as Founder and CEO of ThinkTilt, Simon worked with Atlassian software specialists and Solution Partners, helping them get the most out of the Jira platform. He has also practised law, specialising in insurance and insolvency.

He brings to Climateworks’ Board a deep interest in philanthropy and grantmaking, having co-founded SmartyGrants, one of the world’s leading grants management systems. 

SmartyGrants was created in 2009 – when Cloud technology still had trainer wheels – and today supports hundreds of thousands of users. 

Simon also helped establish the Australian Environmental Grantmakers Network (AEGN). He was a former board member and Vice President of The Myer Foundation and a founding committee member of the La Trobe University Philanthropic Foundation. 

Simon holds a Bachelor of Information Systems from Melbourne University, and a Bachelor of Law (Hons) from University of Sydney and La Trobe University.
