Minalee Busi

Project Officer

Minalee was formerly a project officer in the ocean team. She supported research and analysis for the Southeast Asia Framework for Ocean Action in Mitigation (SEAFOAM) project, working to understand climate mitigation opportunities in the ocean-climate nexus, such as offshore energy and blue carbon.

Previously, Minalee worked in the Capacity Building team within the Sustainable Corporates system, supporting education design and delivery for corporates and Masters students at Monash university, along with undertaking research activities within the system. Minalee began her role with Climateworks as a tutor for the jointly delivered Masters subject, ‘Climate Change and Carbon Management Strategies’. Her role later expanded to include working with the Net Zero Momentum Tracker team as a project officer, supporting data gathering, research and analysis, and report writing.

Prior to Climateworks, Minalee worked as a research assistant in the Business and Economics Department at Monash University, drawing insights from alternative data using Python. She also interned with Telstra, the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, Startupbootcamp and the Governance & Accountability Institute, New York. Her experience includes climate risk, climate financial disclosures, project management, sustainability reporting and analysis. Minalee also has experience in the IT industry, having worked as systems engineer in India.

Minalee holds a Master of Environment and Sustainability with a specialisation in Corporate Sustainability Management from Monash University, and a Bachelor of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the International Institute of Information Technology, Odisha in India. 

Minalee has served as an International Student Ambassador and was a recipient of a 2020 Excellence Award from Monash Business School.
