Mandy Barbour

Engagement Coordinator

Mandy’s responsibilities cover stakeholder management and engagement in Climateworks’ Sustainable Corporates portfolio, focusing on the Transition Plans program, as well as the Net Zero Momentum Tracker. Her work centres around driving system change by engaging and convening stakeholders, building an enabling environment for collaboration and implementation, and providing strategic advisory services based on Climateworks analysis.

Shortly after joining Climateworks, Mandy also accepted a secondment as the organisation’s First Nations engagement adviser, to assist in the development of an organisation-wide strategy around anchoring our work in Indigenous knowledge and perspectives. This work is personally important to Mandy: Her maternal heritage is from Fiji, Hawaiʻi and the Kingdom of Tonga – Pacific Island nations that are acutely aware of the urgency of climate action and the integral role of Indigenous people as we all work to address the challenge.

Passionate about the cultivation and dissemination of ideas, Mandy is a former political staffer and an award-winning film critic. She campaigned to get the first Indigenous representative for Victoria elected to Federal Parliament and has worked across the film festival circuit in Europe.

Mandy holds a Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in French and Film Studies from Monash University, and a Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française : Niveau C1 (Diploma in Advanced French: Level C1) from Centre international d’études pédagogiques, in Lyon, France.
