Kerry Gardner AM brings extensive experience in environmental philanthropy and governance to the Climateworks Centre board, having served on numerous environmental boards including The Great Barrier Reef Foundation and Green Cross Australia, and supported several environmental organisations including Bush Heritage Australia.
With a distinguished career spanning the arts, business, and philanthropy, Kerry was awarded an Order of Australia in 2018 for her outstanding services to the environment, gender and the arts. Based in Melbourne, Kerry is a filmmaker, author and passionate advocate for sustainability, and has completed the Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership program in the UK.
Kerry worked with the Australian Conservation Foundation to advocate and launch former Vice President Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project training, and her dedicated support was critical to establishing Climateworks, the Australian Environment Grantmakers Network (AEGN) and numerous environmental initiatives.
Kerry recently rejoined the AEGN and a small group of Australian and Asian women leaders to further collaborate on the proposed upcoming COP, and with like-minded philanthropists will strengthen her impact in environmental grantmaking that centres women, Indigenous peoples and Global South communities. She is also on the board of Global Fund for Women (USA).
