Dr John Vong
Senior Advisor
Formerly, John worked with Climateworks to provide technical assistance to regulators, institutions, and the private sector to create enabling environments for mobilising capital towards achieving net zero and Paris-aligned objectives. He contributed a range of approaches to sustainable finance to achieve this, working in collaboration with financial regulators and institutions.
Previously, John managed projects under the direction of DFAT, World Bank Group, UN Development Programme, and Asian Development Bank. His advisory services ranged from public sector regulatory reform to private sector development under the pillars of finance, climate resilience, capacity building and education.
He has provided technical assistance to central banks, auditor-general offices, and commercial banks, including having started two banks in the Mekong Region. John has also co-edited four books published by Springer, written policy reports for multilateral development agencies and held teaching roles at the National University Singapore, Nanyang Technology University, Singapore Management University and Monash University Australia.
John has a PhD in management information systems, an MBA (University of Bradford), and a BA (Birmingham City University). He is qualified as a CPA (Australia), and attended the joint UNDP and MIT-Harvard Public Disputes Program.
