Jo Sanson

Senior Project Manager - Engagement

Jo leads engagement activities for the Land Use Futures program, which is developing information and prompting action towards sustainable food and land use systems in Australia. She is responsible for developing and managing partnerships and collaborations, and distilling research findings to support action. Jo also supports the design and delivery of programs across the Land, Food and Oceans system. 

Jo has over 20 years of experience in international development. Most recently she was the Senior Director for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning, for a New York based NGO, Trickle Up. She has worked closely and published with prominent researchers, developed partnerships and provided technical assistance to the World Bank, governments and other organisations to strengthen their resilience, livelihoods and food security programs. She has also developed organisational strategy on climate adaptation.

In previous roles, Jo has worked as Regional Development Manager for the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia, based in Kazakhstan, a Team Leader for Red Cross tsunami recovery programs, and supported programs in Latin America for Oxfam Australia.

Jo holds a Masters in Social Science (International Development) from RMIT University and a Bachelor of Arts with first class Honors (Political Science) from the University of Melbourne.
