Dr Tessa Leach

Senior Project Manager (Research) - Industry

Tessa works within the Industry system, involved in research, analysis and the communication of findings that support Australian industry to realise opportunities for decarbonisation.

Previously, Tessa contributed to the Australian Industry Energy Transitions Initiative. She was responsible for technical analysis and the translation of model findings for the Pathways to Industrial Decarbonisation report (2023), and considers this a career highlight.

Prior to Climateworks, Tessa worked at Accenture within its Technology Advisory practice, where she specialised in working with federal government agencies supporting large-scale digital transformation projects. Tessa was also deeply involved in growing Accenture Australia/New Zealand’s Sustainability community of practice, particularly its energy transition services working group.

Tessa’s PhD research was in the field of Science & Technology Studies, where she took a transdisciplinary approach to the history and philosophy of anthropomorphic machines (such as robots and AI) in an effort to understand why transformative technologies succeed or fail.

Tessa completed her Bachelor of Arts (Hons), Bachelor of Science and PhD at the University of Melbourne.
