Dechen is responsible for project managing current work to decarbonise freight in Australia. 

The role includes engaging with federal, state and territory policy-makers, as well as with industry (freight and logistics sector, corporates). Dechen also undertakes research and analysis on freight decarbonisation interventions and produces advice and reports to synthesise latest research and evidence around freight decarbonisation pathways.

Prior to this role within Climateworks, Dechen co-authored the Net Zero on campus guide – A guide for universities and colleges to accelerate climate action. This significant body of work was a joint initiative of the UN SDSN, Monash University and Climateworks Centre. Before joining Climateworks, Dechen worked with consumer product and media companies including Coca-Cola India & Star TV.

Dechen is an Economics graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. She also holds a Masters in Environment & Sustainability with Monash University, and an MBA with the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad.
