Senior Analyst

Brurce spearheads analysis around mobilising finance for climate in Indonesia with a focus on practical recommendations for governments and businesses to facilitate enabling environments and credible investment strategies supporting a net zero emissions future. 

Brurce is also working to build strategic partnerships with stakeholders in Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific on climate finance, blue finance, and carbon markets.

With a strong background in environmental science and public policy, and regional expertise across Indonesia and Southeast Asia, Brurce contributes expertise in leveraging fiscal policies to attract private investments for climate, as well as mobilising adaptation finance – particularly for ocean, fisheries, coastal ecosystem, and aquaculture. He is also experienced in advocating for standardised climate reporting to ensure the integrity of financial systems and carbon markets.

Prior to Climateworks, Brurce worked at Climate Policy Initiative, leading research and consultancy work related to climate finance, carbon market integrity, and fiscal policy in Indonesia. In this role he was responsible for providing analytical oversight to ensure the rigor of CPI’s knowledge products, and he helped build strategic relationships to fundraise and position CPI as a partner of choice for climate finance.

Passionate about social justice both globally and locally, Brurce is a Task Force Member of the Think 20 (T20), the official engagement group of Indonesia’s G20 Presidency in 2022.

Brurce graduated with a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from Yale University and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung.
