Achieving the Paris Agreement along with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development requires an estimated investment of US$2.6 trillion each year over the next decade for developing countries alone.

Creating an ‘investment vision’ to address these challenges is vital for many national and subnational governments. The unprecedented COVID-19 global pandemic means governments must also now manage the significant human and economic costs of the pandemic.

On Thursday 8 October 2020, Climateworks’ Briefing Room hosted an expert panel discussion focussing on ways governments can unlock transformational investments in green growth and jobs. The panel featured Climateworks head of international programs Meg Argyriou, Dudi Rulliadi from Indonesia’s Fiscal Policy Agency, Ministry of Finance, Cecilia Tam from the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), Richard Baron from the 2050 Pathways Platform and Guntur Sutiyono from Climateworks in Jakarta.
