Climateworks delivers workshops in collaboration with Collabforge and Deakin University, to develop a collective vision for Australia’s food and land sector in 2050.

In August and September 2020, our Land Use Futures program held a series of six workshops. Over 30 participants represented the diversity of Australia’s food and land sector, from conservation, agriculture, research, nutrition, finance, forestry, carbon markets and more.

The Land Use Futures program aims to develop a national vision for a food, agriculture and land use system that contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement. Last year, the program worked collaboratively in the food and land use sector to create a roadmap for natural capital in Australia. The workshops are the next step in creating a roadmap for a sustainable Australian food and land use system by 2050. The aim of the workshops was to gather input into this vision directly from stakeholders in the sector. Held completely virtually, the workshops used zoom video conferencing and mural virtual whiteboard to facilitate discussion between this diverse group, who joined the sessions from all across Australia.
