Climateworks is scaling its contribution to emissions reduction in Southeast Asia, joining the Green Economy Coalition, Green Growth Knowledge Platform and the Asia Development Bank’s SEADS Platform. Each organisation has a role in driving a ‘green’ transformation in Southeast Asia.

Collaborating with the Green Economy Coalition, Green Growth Knowledge Platform and the Asian Development Bank’s SEADS Platform enables our work to have more impact – supporting Southeast Asian nations to raise their ambition.

Climateworks is supporting development of the Green Economy Tracker, which charts the best policies to drive change for a safer future. The tool benchmarks how nations are transitioning to green and fair economies. The Green Economy Coalition brings together over 50 organisations from around the globe, and aims for structural economics reform. Members include trade unions, businesses, NGOs, UN agencies and citizen’s groups. The Coalition works across climate, biodiversity, equality and development; guided by two goals: inspiring social movements demanding change, and developing policies that deliver economic transformation. 

Climateworks has also joined the Green Growth Knowledge Platform. This initiative brings together a global community of organisations and experts to collaboratively generate and elevate green growth knowledge in pursuit of a sustainable future. We look forward to contributing to their knowledge platforms for green policy, finance and industry. 

The Asian Development Bank’s ‘Southeast Asia Development Solutions Knowledge and Innovation Platform’, or SEADS, supports member countries to grow their economies sustainably by tackling development issues. Climateworks joined the recent SEADS symposium, discussing financing for small and medium sized enterprises and the role of innovation in green entrepreneurship. SEADS recently featured an essay from our Head of International and Country Context team, Meg Argyriou: A Green Recovery Can Make Southeast Asia an Economic Powerhouse.
